Jazz

So I have decided to pick jazz as the first genre of music that I will explore. I have a very small background in jazz; the only time i listen to is when I am reading, which i don't do too much. The only problem that is posed is all of the sub-genres of jazz. I will try to hit all of the classics and dip into several different sub-genres. Please comment with your favorite jazz groups or genres.

My Goal

Throughout my life i have always had some sort of connection to music. I was never to big in music but i always liked what was on and throughout the years I have been trying to refine my taste in music. In the last 5 years I have been frustrated because my taste in music is always changing and my favorite groups have changed more than a pregnant woman's moods. Every week I want to explore a different genre of music, and tell my opinions about it. From the most popular to the least popular, I will try to cover the basics first, and then work my way to niche sub-genres. So please follow me on my journey through music, tell me your thoughts on that genre, or how you found your tastes in music.
